the areas more susceptible to the severe weather and a beautiful, beautiful, lauren, seven-day forecast coming up in a little bit. you're going to love the seven day. >>reporter: sounds good, mike. if you are heading out to the pennington avenue draw bridge this morning, beginning at 9:00 it's going to be reduced to just two lanes, so do be aware of that new pattern and the construction does continue on 895 just south of the harbor tunnel toll plaza. no significant backups as of yet. that will change as the morning does progress. you will want to stick with the fort mchenry tunnel or the key bridge as your alternate route. here's a live look at 95 in white marsh, everything up to speed. traffic picking up, though, in the area, but no significant delays as of yet. if you are using the harrisburg expressway, it's going to take you 22 minutes from the maryland/pennsylvania line all the way down towards the beltway. the beltway in great shape on the outer loop from 95 towards 83. that stretch will take you 11 minutes. the west side of 695 really starting to pick up right now. you're looking at a 14-minute ride from 795 down toward 95. that is a look at your abc 2

news time saver traffic. news time right now 6:31. the mother of christopher brown will spend the weekend saying good-bye to her teenaged son. >> last night friends and family held a vigil in that young man's honor. this morning abc 2 news' sherree johnson is here with what's expected for today. >>reporter: it's been a very tough time for his friends and family. and later today a viewing will be held for chris brown. his friends and family will begin to say their good-byes. meanwhile last night people gathered on the randallstown football field to remember the teen in a vigil. they came just off the 50-yard- line where he played. the town came out to show their support. chris brown's mother actually listened as people tried to make sense out of her loss. now, brown died after a fight with a baltimore county off- duty police officer. white balloons filled the sky to remember brown. his friends made sure his mother knew they were behind her and will support her.

>> inspiring. it shows you people, young, 17- year-old touched the heart. he was a likeable brother. he's quick to apologize, quick to want peace. >>reporter: the viewing for chris brown will be held tonight from 4:00 to 8:00 at the von green funeral home at 8728 liberty road in randallstown. sheree johnson, abc 2 news. a hot topic this morning, the a seattle woman wanted to swim topless in a public pool. at first the pool said no, but they changed their minds. jodie jakes found a lump during a self breast exam. after beating cancer, she decided to have a double mastectomy out of fear that the cancer would return. wearing a full bathing suit would be extremely painful for her since she no longer had breasts, she said she had nothing to hide. >> if i called myself a man and walked into that pool, they would have no problem with my body, but if i am a woman who's

good morning. this is your abc 2 news to did. we begin with meteorologist mike massco talking about the possibility of a cooldown. mike. >> possibility, it's going to happen. i think this weekend we're going to break through the humidity, we're going to get the warm temperatures out there and we'll be talking about the cooldown by next week. outside our studio doors we have the haze. you can see down towards dundalk looking towards the key bridge, visibilities reduced. you go beyond that, trying to look toward the lighthouse, you don't see much out there. so the humidity very thick. here's a look at what's going on at bwi, 81 degrees right now, southwesterly wind ushering in all that humidity from the south. look at harbor, the inner harbor that is. 86 degrees right now. so it is a very mild morning across much of the state.

we are forecasting the potential now of some showers and thunderstorms, some of which could test severe limits, gusty winds and dangerous lightning. certainly keep an eye on the sky, especially after lunchtime. we're going for 93. that's your two-degree guarantee. we're going to guarantee a cooldown as we go into the weekend. the full forecast coming up in just a little bit. let's get a check on the morning commute. how are the roads, lauren? >>reporter: good morning, mike. there is a lot of construction out there you will need to watch out for. on 895 crews are replacing some concrete decking. do expect some delays near the harbor tunnel. use the fort mchenry tunnel or the key bridge as your alternate route. starting at 7:00 tonight if you are headed out to the beltway, the ramp to westbound security boulevard will be closed. it won't reopen until 5:00 a.m. on monday. and you're looking at a live picture there at the beltway at liberty road. you'll notice the outer loop really starting to jam. that will continue all the way down towards edmondson avenue. the beltway picking up at hartford road. just 12 minutes on the outer loop from 85 up towards 83. if you are using the jfx to get

into the city, it's nice and clear but traffic also picking up on the northeast corridor of route 93 from route 43 all the way down towards the beltway. that is a look at your abc 2 time saver traffic. 6:47 right now. it is painful to watch, cell phone video of middle schoolers tormenting a bus monitor. it's gone viral and it is disgusting. but it turns out that the 68- year-old grandmother says she doesn't want the boys to face criminal charges. sheree johnson joins us with more. >>reporter: the cell phone video of middle school students taunting a bus monitor in upstate new york has gone viral. a lot of people are sounding off about this. now, the 10-minute video begins with bus monitor karen cline in her seat at the back of the bus surrounded by a small group of seventh graders. the boys tell cline, their 68- year-old bus monitor from the green central school district in upstate new york that she's so fat she'll probably die of diabetes. it wasn't just verbal attacks, there were physical attacks as well. cline sit there is in silence,

and also weighing in online about this story. what do you think should happen to those kids? teresa writes in, community service no doubt, maybe public service speaking about what not to do. brenda weighs in, lose their bus privileges for the school year for a start. we want to know what you think should happen to these kid. join the conversation on our facebook page. in other news this morning, commerce secretary john bryson is stepping down. he sent his letter of resignation to president barack obama citing his recent seizure could possibly be a distraction from his job. the 68-year-old has been on medical leave since his involvement in two car accidents in california that were linked to that reported seizure. no formal charges have been filed in those accidents and president obama says bryson's deputy, rebecca blank will serve as acting secretary for now. jurors will return to court today to deliberate in the sex abuse trial of former penn state assistant football coach jerry sandusky. the jurors met thursday evening and sandusky's adopted son, matt, alleged he was also a victim of his adopted father. his attorneys say he was

prepared to testify for prosecutors against his father. this is his adopted son, matt. he said this was over a course of 15 years. of course, sandusky is accused of sexually abusing 10 boys during a period of more than a dozen years. the battle over the city budget down to one last vote. >> it appears the mayor is going to get her way. this morning abc 2 news' lind stow is here with what this could mean for you. >>reporter: the council will hold its final budget vote on next monday. if it gets passed, it means three fire companies and several rec centers will close on july 1st as part of the mayor's plan to save money. the city council voted 9-5 last night in favor of the mayor's budget. council president jack young led the charge against the cuts but was unsuccessful. several councilmembers who had supported young's plan to save the fire company changed their votes last night after the mayor insisted even if other cuts are made, that money could not be used to save the fire companies. some councilmembers, though, disagree. >> where there's a will, there's always a way,

especially given a $6 million readjustment in a $2 billion plus budget. >>reporter: now, some councilmembers say they're still hoping to make some last minute changes to the budget at next monday's final vote. linda stow, abc 2 news. >> linda, thanks. it appears the recession has taken its toll on young adults. a new report shows more and more young adults are moving back in with mom and dad. the report comes from the census bureau. it shows an increase by 1.2 million between 2007 and 2010. half of all the people are moving home between the ages of 25 and 34. one employee for the baltimore department of public works is a woman of many talents and tonight tiffany walker is going to be showing off some of them. she's singing the national anthem at the o's game tonight. she works for the recycling program and has been singing since she was a child. walker was invited to game after sending in an audition

and eventually those clouds giving way to a shower, maybe a gusty storm. we do find some storms south of charleston, moving towards roanoke. we put a distance tracker on this for you. again, seven hours it will start to move into the baltimore viewing area, so, again, southwest to northeast push, we'll see the showers and storms in here around 2:00, 3:00. some of these storms today could test severe limits, gusty winds, dangerous lightning, so we're all in the risk area from the storm prediction center from carroll county up out towards parts of allegheny county, going all the way towards the eastern shore. be aware there could be some severe weather across the area. wyatt will be here during the afternoon. hot and humid, gusty storms in the mix. tonight still humid, otherwise some partial clearing after midnight. your seven-day forecast is beautiful. take a look at the forecast going into saturday. we're going to still hit 90, but the big difference is we lose the humidity aspect of the forecast so it's more of a dry heat. 88 on sunday. there could be a spot shower for monday, 86 degrees and a

nice cooldown tuesday, wednesday and thursday with temperatures that are actually going to be falling below average. we'll talk more about that coming up tomorrow. lauren. >>reporter: thank you, mike. congestion is starting to pick up on many of the main lines. if you are headed out to 95 and the white marsh area, you are looking at a 17-minute ride traveling southbound from the beltway all the way to downtown baltimore. and if you are headed out to 895, you know all of the construction that is taking place just south of the harbor tunnel toll plaza. not causing a backup just yet, but that will change later this morning. stick with the key bridge or the fort mchenry tunnel. unfortunately there's more construction beginning at 7:00 p.m. tonight on the west side of the beltway. the ramp to westbound security boulevard will actually be closed. that will continue all the way through 5:00 a.m. monday. here's exactly what the west side of the beltway looks like right now at old court road. things up to speed, a little bit of congestion, but 13 minutes on the outer loop from 795 down towards 95.
